Financial Aid Appreciation Day is tomorrow, what are you doing?
Please post ideas, comments and most of all, pictures! You can either post them on your own Facebook page and share them with SCASFAA or you can e-mail them to me at scasfaapresident@gmail.com and I will get them posted for you.
And now, for a few words.
As you know tomorrow is Financial Aid Appreciation Day. It's our chance to show appreciation to each other. Please take time to thank those you work with for their hard work and to pat yourself on the back. Sometimes it can be hard to see what the product of our hard work can be. Just remember, that each student that comes through your office and walks out with their needs covered is another student who will have a far greater chance of success in life. From the most complicated family situations and saddest stories to the student who just needs a hundred dollars to buy a book, your work makes the difference. If it wasn't for financial aid, a higher education would remain a possibility for only the most wealthy and those with the greatest academic ability. Federal Student Aid makes college a possibility for anyone from any background and from any walk of life, but it requires people to process the forms, evaluate the reports, sort through the special circumstances and make the awards happen. Every person in the financial aid offices is part of that. To you we say thank you and we hope you will have a great Financial Aid Appreciation Day.
Ken Cole
President 2014-2015
