Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management

The University of South Carolina Aiken (USC Aiken) is seeking an experienced leader to become its next Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management. Reporting to the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and serving as a member of the Chancellor’s cabinet, the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management is central to the overall success of USC Aiken. The Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management plays a key role in enrollment planning, admissions, financial aid, and student retention and success.  The successful candidate for the position will be expected to employ an array of effective traditional and innovative resources and strategies to enable a tuition-dependent public institution to achieve its enrollment goals. The  Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management will have frequent interaction with all important constituent groups across the close-knit USC Aiken community, including faculty, staff, students, parents, and alumni.

The ideal candidate for the position will have a broad portfolio of leadership accomplishments in an educational setting. Requirements include a Master’s degree in Student Personnel Services or related field from an accredited college or university; a minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible leadership and accountability in comprehensive enrollment management (preference given to those from institutions of similar complexity); strong oral, written communication and presentation skills; professional demeanor and credibility; strong customer-service orientation; and a commitment to working effectively with other administrators, staff, and faculty in communicating the mission of the college.  USC Aiken’s next Associate Vice Chancellor will be a creative, energetic, enthusiastic self-starter committed to transparent, transformational leadership. Candidates for this position should be knowledgeable of the issues and trends in U.S. higher education and have a demonstrated ability to develop relationships with a diverse group of constituents.  The Associate Vice Chancellor will provide evidence of an ability to manage multiple complex processes and projects and exercise good judgment independently.  The successful candidate will be able to maintain composure in high stress situations and possess a history of hitting enrollment targets. Additionally, the successful candidate should have knowledge of enrollment challenges, embrace entrepreneurship, and possess a spirit of optimism coupled with pragmatism. The ideal candidate will be committed to public higher education and understand the importance of communicating effectively with faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni, community members, and other constituents. Knowledge of Banner is not required, but is preferred.
