Job Title: Information Resource Consultant II
Job Description: The Information Resource Consultant will provide functional
user support related to systems including, but not limited, to Ellucian Banner
Information System to the student service areas of Palmetto College. These areas
include Financial Aid, Admissions and Record/Registration. The position provides
critical information systems support to the daily operations of these offices
through consultation, data analysis, data maintenance, and report writing and
information systems process development. This position is responsible for supporting
a variety of third-party interfaces, reporting applications, and databases which
include Ellucian Operational Data Store (ODS), Banner Document Management System
(BDMS), Degree Works and other third-party applications and databases. The employee
is required to positively communicate and collaborate with the staff on Banner
system and training needed as well as advise on the introduction of new
updates/processes in Banner to keep in line with federal/state regulation
requirements. The employee is also required to assume a leadership role in the
review and evaluation of the use of the Banner system, making recommendations for
change as required and appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 2 years' experience in automated
information or communication system design, installation, operation, repair, sales
or marketing; or equivalency. Must be prepared to integrate new processing system
and software. Must show ability to manage multiple responsibilities with minimal
error. Must present strong ability to troubleshoot problems and make sound
decisions. Must have the ability to create harmonious working relationships with
colleagues, students, parents, and outside entities. Employee must have working
knowledge and experience with integrated database systems; demonstrate ability to
learn new software and computer technologies; be detail oriented with accuracy; be a
self-starter; and have the ability to work independently with an ability to
establish priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision; have the ability to
interpret and write intermediate level SQL rules and have the ability to understand
complex databases with a large number of tables and must also have the ability to
counsel and provide customer service to employees needing help with technology
related issues and have strong organizational and problem solving skills and is
committed to a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Ellucian BANNER Information System or
other similar Oracle-based systems preferred. Prefer financial aid experience and
familiarity with financial aid related software systems and Banner Student Module.
Prefer experience with student integrated systems, FA system, and various personal
computer software.
