News from South Carolina Student Loan

 

South Carolina Student Loan has worked closely with our colleagues at schools in South Carolina for over 40 years.  In continuing to provide quality service to schools and students in our State, we would like to take this opportunity to announce our newest program.  Beginning immediately, EdManage, a division of SC Student Loan, will work with South Carolina colleges and universities to provide a comprehensive plan to aid in default prevention and financial literacy.

 

South Carolina Student Loan has received approval from the South Carolina State Education Assistance Authority to utilize guaranty agency funds to provide this new service to South Carolina’s public and private colleges at no cost to the school.  We are very appreciative to the members of the Authority for making this initiative possible, and we see it as a wonderful opportunity that will benefit the citizens of South Carolina.

 

Our default prevention area is equipped to make calls to all of your delinquent student borrowers and to counsel them on the various repayment options that may be available to them.  Along with delinquency calls, we will also reach out to your current student borrowers via electronic messages to send helpful reminders throughout their enrollment.  We understand that each school is unique and may have different needs based on your current default rate, student population and other demographics.  We value your input in molding a plan that works well for everyone involved.

 

In addition to default prevention, we will offer financial literacy education to your students and staff.  We will work with you to provide training sessions throughout enrollment and to determine how best to utilize presentations, delivered either in person or online, that may assist with entrance and exit counseling for your students.  We also have additional presentations on various financial literacy topics that will be made available on our EdManage website.  We believe our local presence in South Carolina provides us with accessibility that others cannot offer.
