The following CNN article is being provided to you on behalf of the Global Issues and Legislative Relations Committees. Many of you may have already heard about our state legislature's recent decision to pull funding to two public universities based on the controversial subject matter included in assigned reading books, but the story was published nationally yesterday. As a non-political entity, no opinion on the matter is being expressed by the SCASFAA Executive Board or by the Global Issues and Legislative Relations Committees. However, since this is a timely issue affecting institutions of higher education in our state, we wanted our members to be aware of the situation.
The story can be found at the following link:
Sincerely,
Katie Harrison, SCASFAA President
Traci Singleton, Global Issues Chair
Ken Bernard, Legislative Relations Chair
