SCASFAA,
Happy Financial Aid Appreciation Day!
I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. Those two words are seldom heard in the financial aid office, although financial aid administrators deserve an overabundance of gratitude on a daily basis. From continually changing regulations, to the completion of numerous forms, applications, and reports, to handling technical and systems issues, to patiently offering a sensitive ear to a family in need, and everything in between, your job requires a wealth of knowledge and skill that goes widely unrecognized by the larger community.
I hope you know that even when the stress is high and the students are blaming you for something that is not your fault or responsibility, YOU ARE APPRECIATED! By administrators who may seem to overlook your efforts....by coworkers and colleagues who may rely on you when they are lost....by those students and families whose lives you impact in such a meaningful way....and especially by your SCASFAA peers who understand what you face on a daily basis.
On behalf of the SCASFAA Executive Board, THANK YOU for everything you do! If your office is celebrating today, please don't forget to send pictures to Melanie Gillespie at mlgillespie@swu.edu and check the SCASFAA Facebook page to see what other financial aid offices around our great state are doing to celebrate.
With sincerest appreciation,
Katie Harrison
SCASFAA President
