Student
Services Coordinator I
DEPARTMENT: Student Financial Services
HOURS:
Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Friday-8:00am-1:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Beltline Campus
DESCRIPTION
OF POSITION: Advise
students and parents regarding financial assistance programs and the
eligibility criteria of each program. Disseminates accurate and timely
information to include application procedures, eligibility requirements and
Satisfactory Academic Progress. Reviews and evaluates financial aid applicant
files to determine eligibility based on federal, state and institutional law,
regulations and/or guidelines using DATATEL system. Reviews and evaluates
documentation on student files selected for verification process-resolving discrepancies. Awards and adjusts awards in
accordance with federal, state and institutional guidelines; adjust cost of
attendance budgets in accordance with institutional guidelines using the
DATATEL system. Reviews, evaluates and makes decisions related to student
submission of “Special Circumstances” in accordance with federal, state and institutional guidelines. Authorizes
payment of financial assistance and makes appropriate adjustment to student
records. Assists with the planning and implementation of policies, procedures
and processes of the Student Financial Services Office. Plans, develops and
participates in financial planning workshops for students, parents and
community agencies (within Richland, Lexington and Fairfield counties)
Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of SC National Guard College
Assistance Program, SC Lottery Tuition Assistance and assigned documents for
Satisfactory Academic Progress appeals. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree. Preferably a
Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of relevant program experience in the
area of financial aid or student services.
HIRING
RANGE: $25,627-$36,520, Band 04, SC State Classification System. Excellent benefits
