On behalf of SCASFAA, please see the following announcement from Dr. Karen Woodfaulk
concerning the upcoming CHE summer workshops:
Greetings,
As the 2012-13 academic year begins to wind down, it is time to look ahead to the
2013-14 academic year. That means it is time again for the CHE State Scholarship
and South Carolina Residency summer workshops. The purpose of these workshops is to
provide a platform for training, introduce possible or potential changes to the
regulations, and have an open dialogue about the various State Financial Aid and
Residency Programs that are administered in the state. For the past three years we
have conducted three separate workshops across the state, and the feedback continues
to be positive regarding this type of format. CHE would like to continue to keep
costs at a minimum for institutions and will follow this same format for this year's
workshops.
CHE will hold three "Training Days" throughout the months of June and July, during
which we will conduct our scholarship & grant and South Carolina residency
workshops. We will conduct both the scholarships and residency workshops in one
day, with SC Residency being done in the morning, and the State scholarships portion
to follow immediately after. CHE has been fortunate to have three institutions
graciously open their doors: Clemson University, Columbia College, and Trident
Technical College.
The workshops are being held this way to provide a smaller, more intimate setting
where you can ask specific questions, and we can accomplish more because we are
working with a smaller group. You may attend the workshop of your choosing, and you
may attend more than one if you wish. We do encourage you to bring a team of
individuals from your institution (Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar's Office,
Student Affairs, etc.) that works with SC Residency or State Scholarships and
Grants. The focus of the workshops will be scenarios that have come up in the past
year, and existing regulations. The dates and time for the "Training Days" are
