Hello SCASFAA,
With the creation of the new website through Wild-Apricot we
now have an opportunity to redesign our Peer Support Network. I have just
completed some changes that I think you will like. I have simplified the way
in which our members can pose questions to the Peers. Please go to this
page to see the changes:
While there is a list of all 74 topics at the bottom, to
pose a question you only have to click on the question mark icon and use the
form. You can select the related topic from the drop down menu and write
in your question. This will be sent to scasfaapeers@gmail.com which the Peer
Support Chair will administer. They will then distribute the question to
the team for each topic. Members will either get responses individually
or the team will discuss the topic and come up with a single response.
We need YOU!
Our Peer Support Network Members are those SCASFAA Members
who have years of experience and know their stuff. They aren’t
necessarily “experts”, but they are confident in their ability to answer most
questions. If you look at the list (linked to from the page above), you
will notice that it is rather small and many people have been on there for many
years. I know there are more SCASFAA members who know there stuff.
I know you answer these kinds of questions daily and I know you are always
willing to help. So, I am asking for that help. Please use the
“Volunteer to be a Peer Support Network Member” link (also on that page) to
choose up to seven topics that your fellow members can pick your brain
about. Remember, we don’t expect you to be an expert, just knowledgeable,
and we don’t consider your advice authoritative, just experienced. To
make this simple, just click here. It won’t hurt! I promise!
Please join the Peer Support Network Team!
Finally, if you see your name on the list of current
members, please be sure to let me know of any updates to your contact
information and any changes you would like to make to your “topics”. In
fact, you can do this just by using the same link above.
Thank you,
Ken Cole
