Minimum Requirements
|
Bachelor's degree in business management or accounting, plus 2 years of experience in student financial aid or higher education administration. Experience with student financial aid services is preferred. Training and supervisory experience is helpful. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
|
Must have understanding of FERPA regulations. Experience with Banner Financial Aid, Microsoft Word and Excel software is preferred. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Ability to manage office operating budget is expected. Must be able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a variety of people. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Must be highly organized and practice excellent customer service skills when dealing with students, parents, faculty, and colleagues.

Occasional work hours required in evenings and on weekends during peak processing periods.

1. As a member of the Customer Services Team, coordinates in-office visits, telephone calls, emails, website queries, and front desk general information dissemination. Advises students and parents regarding the student's aid application status and next steps in the process. Logs into the automated attendant system and assists with telephone inquiries as scheduled.

2. Manages the federal verification process and interacts with students, parents, and various external federal agencies to resolve conflicting data from financial aid applications. Supervises and provides support to the staff of the federal verification processing area. Transmits data confirmations and changes to the U. S. Department of Education. Assists with entering federal verification documents and data into Banner during peak processing times.

3. Manages the Banner Document Management System (BDMS) and controls access to confidential financial records of students and parents. Ensures compliance with state and federal Records Retention Management guidelines. Hires, trains, and supervises staff in the document imaging area. Manages the quality assurance process on imaged documents. Supervises all activity in the central file area and coordinates activities with the Assoc. Director for Operations & Systems Development.

Manages the Banner Workflow process (creating a workflow definition, drawing workflow models, defining activity properties, validating workflows, reviewing workflow status, and handling alerts and integration capabilities). Prioritizes and responds to work list request items. Prepares and provides Banner Workflow training in-house for applications, menus, and terminology.

5. Manages the administrative operations of the office. Coordinates budgetary requests and ensures compliance with annual office budget. Researches and make recommendations regarding large office purchases, printing bids, etc. Responsible for knowing and following procurement processes, maintaining supplies and auxiliary services, and managing travel authorizations. Monitors Xerox account and reconciles purchasing card with Procurement on a monthly basis. Responsible for development and maintenance of office annual operations calendar with personnel assignments and target deadlines.
